About time,,

I wrote another post,,,,,,,
I am addicted to InstaGram that I forget about the blogs, but I have been having a bit of a catchup with them today.
Life has been flowing by,, albeit a bit too quickly for my liking. Here we are at the end of November, and the 'christmas' songs start up at work tomorrow! I don't mind some of them, but after 23 days of hearing the same ones in a 3 to 4 hour loop, you just want some quiet!

On the crafty front, I have been busy.
Laid Back Larry has been knitted and dispatched to his new home,, and has made friends with the other occupants on top of my son's chest of draws!

Made for one of the ladies at my craft group for her birthday.
And made another using fabulous bike fabric for one that owns a bike shop with her
 husband,,,, again a birthday pressie.
Then I had been looking at the mitts with the flip over tops,, and thought I could make a pair,,,
so I did. It is a free pattern on Ravelry, called Podster gloves. Can't remember the designer. They are lovely and warm!
I am in the middle of a baby cardi for my grandson due in January,,, then I have to knit another one for my 3rd grandchild due in May!

I had a favourite umbrella which broke,,, so I decided to make a bag out of the fabric. I did french seams and reinforced the handles with some webbing,,a good strong bag!

I finished these socks but haven't got a 'finished' picture,, so this one will do.
And I am sure I have mentioned my spinning before,,, this is some Shetland wool spun by
me,,, brown and cream spun singly then plied together. Not sure what I will be using it for.

If you are on InstaGram,, come and find me,,, cazsixtythree.

Hi There!

My first post in a while,, and may have a few pictures.
I finished my February Lady Sweater/cardigan,, love it!

I have started a Sock Yarn blanket using the 'recipe' by Martine Ellis on Ravelry,,,

I joined in a knitalong on Ravelry for toe-up socks. My first pair of toe -ups,, and they came out ok. I surprised myself with them!

And then there is my Lovely Ruffly shawl,, using handspun yarn. The grey is my own handspun and the other colour was gifted to me.
I had to knit Hugo The Hedgehog,, when I saw him on the front of a magazine,,, and have started yet another pair of socks!

I forgot to get a picture or two of my 'award winning' quilt,,, but earlier this month we had the village Produce, Art and Craft show,,,,, and my handmade, handsewn quilt won 'Best in Section' and 'Best in Show'! I have trophies to prove it!

Knitting seems to be addiction at the moment,,,, and am knitting something for my (33 yr old) son,,,
Laid Back Larry is a Three Toed Sloth,, my son is a bit of a Sloth,,,,, his words.

Things,,,,,

Hi All,, been a while since my last post. Life gets in the way,, and working doesn't help.
Dh and I have had a little holiday to Wales,, up near Llandudno. The day we visited Llandudno, we had a cable car ride to the top of the Great Orme. Lovely!

Once again,, not much creating,,
Not sure if I have shown this before,, I made it for my boss lady at work, for her birthday. She loves it and uses it for her make up.
Still spindle spinning my green Corriedale,,,,, trying to do a little every day.
This is yarn that I have handspun on my wheel. Not sure what I will make with it yet.

I don't seem to have the oomph for blog writing at the moment,,, so I will take a break and hopefully be back in September.
If any one is on Instagram,,, I am cazsixtythree.

                                      THANKS FOR READING! Xxx

Hobbies

It's a shame that I need to work as I have so many things of what I want to do,, there never seems enough time to do them.....
As in my last post, I showed a drop spindle for spinning,,,,, just look to what I have graduated to,,,,,
A lovely Ashford traditional wheel, I have named her Betty. And the chair that I use, I have called Margaret,,, both named after my mum,,, Just Because. I think I am getting the hang of using Betty.

I think I am a little addicted to sock knitting,, I have another pair on the go!

50 scrappy 6.5 inch blocks have been made, some are swonky stars, others are crazy, (a bit like me).
There was an open day recently at the John Arbon Textiles mill in Devon, and I came away with some fibre for spinning and some yarn.

And finally,, my Home is where the heart is hanging,, just have to put a back on to it, and bind it.

Things,,,,,,

I seem to be losing my oomph to write my blog,,, as I am on Instagram as cazsixtythree. A friend introduced me to it,, and now I am hooked!

I went to Wonderwool Wales at the end of April,,, and bought a few goodies,, including a drop spindle and fibre,,, I'm learning to spin yarn!!
Early days!
The packet with the multi-colour skein in it is for socks, and comes with a 9 inch circular needle,,,,, never used one that small before.

I made a one hour basket,,, nifty,,,, so I thought I'd make another one,,,

And finally,,, another pair of socks,, Sirdar Heart and Sole yarn,,,,

Knitting and Making

Nearly a third of the way through the year already,, time flies when you're having fun!
I finished DH's socks,,,, he has got UK size 11 feet!

The colour is more correct in the lower picture.

I have made a Sewtogether bag, by Sewdemented,,

A great pattern,, easier than I thought.

The magazine was bought for the project on the front, Home is Where the Heart is wallhanging. And the fabric was a Laura Ashley bargain.
I have started a cardigan, the February Lady Sweater from Ravelry,, top down and seamless.

                                                    Thanks for reading,,,,, XxX

One day in March,,,

One day in March I celebrate my birthday,, and I like to go to new places. This year we went to Bristol,, where we have been many times before,,, to see the SS Great Britain. Well worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

At first glance before I got through the gate I thought this man was real!!!!

This is the Ships' cat!

Third class sleeping quarters,,,, cramped but sufficient!

This chap was happy in his work,, he was singing!! And keeping an eye on the rats!!

Accommodation getting better,,,the monkey was enjoying himself!!

This was the view of the Ship in the dry dock. Brilliant how it is done,, because from up top, it looks like it is in water.
Any one remember Rosie and Jim,,, spotted these two on board a boat moored on the wharf,

And one last picture,,
of a yummy cake in a coffee shop in Sherborne, Dorset.

Not much crafting, yet again,, but I am knitting a pair of socks for my DH,, size 11 feet!!
And I am on Instagram,, if any one wants to follow me I am on there as cazsixtythree.

I am going to Wonderwool in Wales at the end of next month and really looking forward to it.

Thanks for reading and leaving comments.
