Spring,,,,,

I would like to thank all of my readers that take the time to comment on my blog. I do read all the comments,, but as some of you are no reply bloggers, I don't always reply.

I think Spring is finally arriving,,,,

I walked to the post office and went past a field of Sheep with their babies!!! So cute,,   and look at the colour of the sky,,,, lovely!!

I have finished all my red 9 patch blocks and stitched them together.

No idea why the bottom picture is that way,, I did straighten it before hand,,, never mind, just turn your head to the left!!! I have to put borders on it,, but at least the main bit is done.
I am making progress on my Hexie quilt as well,,,,,, but no pictures yet.

A Day Out,,,

Tuesday was a beautiful day, after the fog lifted,,, particularly in the South-west of England. My DH and I took a drive out to Lyme Regis,,,, I have never been there before,, and it is Lovely!!

 The car park we parked in is at the top,,,but is one of the cheapest,,, at £1.70 for 24 hours!!!

 When I first saw these steps,,, I was a bit daunted,,, but there weren't as many as I thought.

Nice empty beach,, so, so quiet!! And the sky,, it was so blue,,,

 I have been told that the area hasn't changed much over the years,,,

 We stopped for a coffee, as you do,, in a small place called Aroma,, very friendly.

 Taking the above picture made me want to get out a sketch book,,

This little shop was closed due to a powercut,,, shame,, I would have liked a look around.

 This wall is in 'The French Lieutenants Woman',, never seen the film myself, but I have seen the scene.

 This little thing was sunbathing near to us on the beach.

 DH bought me lunch,,, lovely Fish and Chips,,, have to when you are at the seaside,,,couldn't eat it all though!!!

I have made something using them,, but am keeping it under wraps for now.
I have been hard at work on my Hexie quilt,, I need to get it finished,,, It is 5 foot wide, not sure of the length yet.

It only took,,,

3 months to knit my shawl.

Lala's Simple Shawl from the Ravelry site. I used James C Brett Marble yarn in shade 11. I started this on the 4/11/12 and I finished it on the 11/2/13. I had fun blocking it as well. Never done that before with knitted items,, not sure why.
Ta-dah,,,,,,,,,,,,

I couldn't get a decent flat shot inside,, so I took it outside and wrapped it around a tree stump that is in the communal garden area. Goodness knows what my neighbours thought,,,,,,
I am making a little progress on my redwork 9 patches,, hope to get some more done over the weekend.

We had a visit from my DS and GS recently,,,, took them to Caen Hill Locks,, and forgot a buggy for the little man,,,, he got tired!!!

I didn't need to make this so soon,,, as I have until May,,, but it is done!!!

Waiting,,,,

As the title suggests,, I am waiting,,, for some free time to make a start on my 9 patch blocks for my red and white quilt,,,

 As the above picture shows,, I have all the bits already cut out, and waiting,,,,I do have a week off work next week,,,

 This is a pile of squares that may be spares,, if I don't put a pieced border around the quilt top.
The next picture is of a piece of fabric,, 10" x 21",, to be used in my quilt groups challenge. I have to use all of it in whatever I make, and I can embellish it, stamp it, dye it, rip it, tear it etc. etc..

Any suggestions??????? I was thinking of making one of my Tilda bears, if there is enough fabric!!! Watch this space!!

More Progress,,,

A week into the New Year, and I have finished stitching the redwork blocks for my quilt! 31 lovely stitched blocks,, just have to trim them to size!!

 Then I have to cut 404 x 2.5 inch squares out of my reds,,,do I go for lights and darks???, or do I just go random???.

I am about halfway through the trimming,, and will get straight on to the square cutting when that is finished!!!
Now for something completely different,,,

 I decided to try this recipe for Sun-dried tomato bread,,, and it is absolutely gorgeous. I took a peak while it was baking,,, and the smell,,,mmmmmm!

If only we had taste/smell abilities over the internet!!! This loaf is all mine,, DH doesn't like it! Don't know what he's missing!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

and a Happy New Year to all!!!!
I had an unexpected visit from my GS and eldest DS last weekend,, cheered me up to see them.

I am on no;29 of 31,, of my redwork blocks,, I do hope to get them finished very soon.
That's it for this year,,,,, have a great time with family and friends over the next few days!!!
