A Little Progress,,,

I have stitched 4 of my 31 stitchery blocks for my quilt. With the weather being hot here for a change, I have not felt like doing much,, apart from perspiring!!!
I am using a DMC variegated thread, #4205. 1 strand for details and 2 for the main flower parts. The recipe says to make French knots at the flower heads,, but I am using Colonial knots instead, I prefer them!
I like some of the designs more than others, so I may duplicate the ones I like and leave others out.
This is the pen I am using,, it is a 'normal' erasable pen that you use to write with, but someone (????) has found out that if you mark on fabric with it,, then put a hot iron to the piece,, the marks disappear. They do not come back after washing, either!!! But if you did need the marks to reappear,, just put it in the freezer!! I have not yet tried this but I have it on good authority that it works! One of the members at my quilt group said that wouldn't the marks come back in the cold weather we have,,,,,,, I doubt it gets cold enough in my part of England for that!!(but you never know).

I went to meet my DH from work the other day,, and saw this wild plant growing in the surrounding wild growth,, any one know what it is???

It seemed to be able to collect the rain easy enough,, and there were quite a few of these plants around,, looked a bit like 'Triffids'!!!
                                                         XxX

  5. Hi Caz , I think you and I are crossing paths but not meeting onthe way . Itrid emailing you but it oes up email not embedded or some such words.
1, I left you a comment about your mystery plant but haven't seen it on your blog
It is a teasel , loved by chaffinch for winter feeding .They hold water inbetween the leaves so the birds are well catered for . In my garden the flower part is just turning mauve .
a few years ago crafters made hedgehog pincushions using the teasel for the head and the stalk to build the dress on . a mob cap was put on the head .

The place you need for fabric is--- in your Google bar put Fabric Guild UK. It is in Leicester where I live .
